Our Grassroots Mission
The Global Volleyball Movement is developing at a record pace. But I also see a few gaps. With so many websites that cater to the pros, where is the home for the person who just purchased their first pair of knee pads? Where is the help for the confused parent who is trying to figure out their child’s tournament schedule?
Volleyworld isn’t a corporate branch of a massive federation. It is a hand-crafted digital archive created to simplify the sport. Our mission is built on three personal promises:
- Mentorship: We have come to understand that our big brother or big sister type of guidance has been absent.
- Guide Reliability: We keep our guides updated to guarantee that you can pinpoint the most accurate information available.
- Sport Diversity: We recognize that every court and every player, regardless of whether it be the local Indian circuit or the snowy courts of Europe, deserves to have a place, including you.Why “Static” is Better.

While most of my competitors are offering new features and updating their services every other day, I, perhaps counterintuitively, offer a static resource. Why? Because a perfect set or a shoe that grips the hardwood doesn’t change every week, let alone every day, or every hour. You don’t need a complicated algorithm with a proprietary formula to love the sport the way we do and a static resource doesn’t do that, instead it provides a an unchanging place to give the right info at the right time.
A Journey Shared
You can see the site’s pages from the Gear Room to the Court Blueprint come from a place of real world trial and error. This site is a reflection of my learning journey around the sport and I am humbled to share it with you.
We aren’t just building a website; we are building a legacy of accessibility. Whether you are a novice in a rural area or an experienced player in an urban area, you have a place on our bench.
Beyond the Scores: Our Philosophy
I have always thought that a unique thing about volleyball is that it is the only sport where you are literally not allowed to keep possession of the ball. You have to let your teammates have it in order to keep the game going. That spirit of interdependence is the very essence of this site.
We don’t simply explain the mechanics of performing a spike; we provide the reasoning behind it. To us, the values of sportsmanship, excellent communication and the ability to get back up after taking a hard fall, are just as important as your vertical.
Who Runs Volleyworld?
Instead of asking for a corporate HQ or editorial team, people would be more accurate of just a handful of volleyball enthusiasts, led by a founder who literally gets hyped for every season.
We’ve done every gear review, every article is vetted by a person, not a news machine that spits out hundreds of articles every day, for us, publishing a single article that has the potential to improve a player’s over the net hit is worth more than a thousand fluff articles.
Our Future Goals
Growing out of my personal frustrations, this site has already become a global resource, a goal I’ve had for more than a decade. Volleyworld has the potential to become the ultimate resource for every sport.
Over the next few years, we hope to increase the number of Regional Spotlights we have for emerging players where coaching opportunities are scarce to eliminate the rural to urban divide. We are archiving the game, but also trying to open up access to it, so the next “kid with a ball” doesn’t have to wait years to find their map.
Why Your Voice Matters
While this is a static site, it is built around the community’s stories. I spent a long time feeling like I didn’t belong in the “Volleyball World”. But I’ve learned that whoever is willing to step onto the court, the sport belongs to them.
If you have thought that the game was too complicated or the equipment too expensive, this space was built for you. Your journey is part of our story, and every guide used here to better someone’s game, the mission of Volleyworld is accomplished.
